MiYOSMART spectacle lenses slow down myopia progression, so your child can race ahead.
Nothing is more important than the health and well-being of your child, and you may have noticed your child struggling to see clearly at a distance. Your child may have myopia, also called short-sightedness. If left untreated in children, myopia can lead to significant and lasting vision problems in the future.
HOYA have created a myopia simulator to help parents understand how their child might see the world as myopia progresses. We recommend giving it a go!
Why MiYOSMART?
Today, in most cases, myopia is corrected with standard single vision spectacle lenses providing clear and sharp vision. However single vision spectacle lenses do not help to manage myopia by slowing down myopia progression. When myopia increases by 1 diopter there is a 58%¹ increased risk of eye related disease.
That’s why MiYOSMART spectacle lenses were developed specifically for kids.
MiYOSMART spectacle lenses are the innovative solution for slowing down myopia progression by 60%² in an easy, safe, effective and non-invasive way.
With revolutionary D.I.M.S. Technology, developed in collaboration with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, MiYOSMART spectacle lenses enable clear vision in the same way as a conventional spectacle lens, but with a treatment zone on the lens surface that consists of hundreds of small segments which provide an additional correction. It is this additional correction, provided by the D.I.M.S. honeycomb-shaped segment area, that aims to impact the progression of the level of short-sightedness.
So whilst the lenses are being worn your child will see clearly but also the growth of their eyes (and therefore the level of their short-sightedness) will be being managed by the D.I.M.S technology.
✅ Unique, innovative solution for managing myopia.
✅ Child-friendly, easy to adapt and non-invasive.
✅ Clinically proven effectiveness in slowing down myopia progression.
As children are active, there is a need for the lens material to be impact-resistant to offer their eyes the protection they need. MiYOSMART Spectacle Lenses are made from a polycarbonate material which is a light, thin highly impact resistant material that has passed the high velocity impact drop ball test.
MiYOSMART Spectacle Lenses also have an anti-reflection coating as standard, which protects the lens surface with a high level of scratch resistance and enhances vision by reducing glare effects compared to uncoated lenses.

Care beyond the lens
-
Spend time outdoors.
Research showed that spending time outdoors may reduce risk of myopia and its progression.
-
Seek regular eye care.
Make sure that your child has regular eye examinations to ensure that myopia or other vision problems are detected and treated early, reducing the worsening of vision, myopia progression and potential complications of high myopia.
-
Take regular breaks
Reduce your child’s eye strain by reminding him or her to take breaks from intensive screen time or near-work.
With MiYOSMART sun spectacle lenses, slowing down of myopia progression and protection from intense sunlight come together.*
MiYOSMART sun spectacle lenses adopt D.I.M.S. Technology (Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments), to correct myopia and slow down its progression.* They also protect from intense sunlight, which provides eye comfort and encourages children to wear their spectacles outdoors.
MiYOSMART sun spectacle lenses offer protection from harmful UV rays,** reducing the risk of long-term damage to the eye - so you can be sure your child’s eyes are well taken care of!
*Assuming self-tinting spectacle lenses are used at all times or in addition to MiYOSMART clear spectacles lenses, or polarized spectacle lenses are used in addition to MiYOSMART clear spectacle lenses. Please always consult your Eye Care Professional for treatment decisions for your child’s myopia and instructions for using MiYOSMART spectacle lenses.
**MiYOSMART polarized spectacle lenses and inactive MiYOSMART self-tinting spectacle lenses block 100% of harmful UV light, as per the ISO8980-3 (2022) standard.
